The National Unity Government is deeply shocked and profoundly saddened to learn of the tragic shooting incident that occurred this morning, 7 August 2026, at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand, which resulted in injuries and loss of life among innocent teachers and students.
We firmly believe that schools must at all times remain places of learning and refuge that are wholly safe and secure for children and teachers alike. On behalf of the people of Myanmar, the National Unity Government solemnly conveys to the Royal Thai Government and to the entire people of Thailand — including the bereaved families, relatives and friends bearing inconsolable sorrow as a result of this incident, and all those who were injured — that it shares in their grief in full measure.
As befits a good neighbouring country standing firm upon bonds of friendship and mutual respect, the people of Myanmar stand alongside the people of Thailand in steadfast solidarity.
We offer our prayers and loving-kindness that the affected families may find strength and comfort, and that all those injured may recover swiftly and fully. With hearts full of sorrow, we earnestly pray that those who lost their lives may attain a peaceful abode, and hereby convey this message of condolence.
