1. Today marks the 81st birthday of the State Counsellor and Public Leader, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Since 1 February 2021, when the terrorist military junta unlawfully attempted to seize sovereign power from the people, she has been unlawfully, arbitrarily, and unjustly detained to this day, marking exactly 5 years, 4 months, and 18 days of unjust imprisonment.
2. As a Public Leader who continues to command the highest affection and recognition from the public, as well as enduring international recognition, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has faced various forms of obstruction throughout Myanmar’s democratic struggle—including unlawful detention, house arrest, and life-threatening intimidation and harassment by successive military dictatorships. Currently, she is facing an extremely alarming and grave situation where no concrete evidence of her being alive has been provided, her exact whereabouts remain completely unknown, and she is entirely denied any contact with her family members.
3. In accordance with the will of the people of Myanmar, we regard the following matters as absolute prerequisites that must be urgently fulfilled to bring the People’s Revolution to a successful conclusion:
(a) The immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners;
(b) The immediate cessation of all targeted attacks against the civilian population; and
(c) The immediate end to the forced conscription of the younger generation.
4. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG) strongly urge the international community to exert pressure on the terrorist military junta through all available and effective measures to ensure the swift implementation of the aforementioned priorities. On this momentous occasion of the birthday of State Counsellor and Public Leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, we solemnly pledge to continue our utmost efforts, working together in unity with all allied forces and organizations, to fully achieve the objectives of the revolution—including the realization of these immediate measures—and to establish the future Federal Democratic Union, which remains the ultimate aspiration of the entire nation.
May the birthday celebrant, Public Leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi be blessed with good health!
May she be immediately released from detention!
